Testimonials
“I first met Mirek Standowicz in 2000 while he was preparing for a dive on the ship wreck "Carl D. Bradley". An extremely difficult dive that was 26 miles off shore and in 380 feet of water. It would be the first time that a scuba diver had visited the ship wreck. As Captain of the training/research vessel "Pride of Michigan" I asked Mirek to join our crew of divers for some shallow dives in the Great Lakes. After observing Mireks training and skills as a diver I agreed to work with him as a support boat captain on his dive to the "Carl D. Bradley" which was successfully completed in 2001.
In 2003 I completed two courses in Technical Diving courses that were taught by Mirek through TDI. These classes were taught in a very professional manor where Mirek was very knowledgeable of the course materials and very through in the underwater training. I would be very happy to recommend Mirek Standowicz to anyone seeking excellent underwater training.”

“I can’t thank you enough. I wasn’t sure if “diving was for me” – However, after taking diving classes with you.....wow! You made it so exciting and interesting that I fell in love with it. Your vast amount of diving knowledge and experience set me at ease and gave me the confidence to go deeper and explore
ship wrecks. Thank you for opening my eyes to a whole new world under the water.“

“Someone asked me how I felt about my SCUBA Instruction from Mirek Standowicz #6318. I thought about that for a moment and realized that I haven't had better instruction in quite a long time for anything else. I have the most complete understanding and skill for Open Water Diving developed exclusively from his no nonsense approach to Diving instruction and techniques. I look forward to advancing my skill set with him as my mentor.”

"Hello, I am David Roesch, an SSI and SDI instructor with over 34 years of diving experience. I currently work at Aquatic Adventures in Columbus, Ohio. I met Mirek approximately 4 years ago while diving at Gilboa Quarry, just West of Findlay, Ohio, as I watch him conduct a Decompression class. I was impressed with his personal skills and his attention to details with his students. I enrolled in his next Decompression Diving class. Mirek instructed me as I had witnessed his instructional style earlier. His demanding style for skill development and dive planning was tiring but most rewarding. With his instruction during this class, I became a much more confident and competent diver. My Open Water students reaped the rewards of my evolution. Following the completion of the Decompression class, I enrolled in Mirek's Extended Range course. I now understood why he was so demanding during the first class. The multitude of skills I worked so hard to master and attention to the dive plan kept me safe and calm throughout each dive. I could really enjoy each dive I made during the Extended Range course. Mirek's demanding style proved to be what was necessary for me to become an independent, safe, and competent deep diver.
Mirek shared his experiences and knowledge of diving with me as well as the other students. This knowledge and experience is extensive and entertaining. A mix of stern instruction and humorous anecdotes provided an ideal learning experience.
Following the Extended Range Course, I enrolled in the Trimix Course also taught by Mirek. Jumping off a boat in the middle of Lake Huron preparing to descend to below 200' is a daunting thought. No walls, no trees, no gentle slope to descend onto, just the view of a thin yellow line descending into thedepth, created some internal excitement for me. But, by focusing on the skills, training, and knowledge from Mirek, I was able to complete the dives safely and thus provided me with some of the most memorable diving experiences of my life.
I extend my appreciation to Mirek."
